Description
This webinar forms part of the dissemination and implementation of the Guidelines on Occupational Medical Examinations, with a focus on functional fitness to drive and clinical decision-making. It will address the standardisation of fitness decision categories, conditional fitness, referral pathways for complex cases, and the requirements for doctor registration and professional compliance. The session aims to promote consistent, evidence-based and defensible fitness-to-drive decisions that safeguard drivers and other road users.
Objectives
1. To update doctors on functional fitness-to-drive assessments, standardised fitness decision categories, conditional fitness and referral pathways for complex cases.
2. To clarify doctor registration and compliance requirements, including portal profile updates, DME number allocation, data protection certificates and KMPDC practice licences.
3.To strengthen doctors’ capacity to make consistent, evidence-based fitness-to-drive decisions using the five categories: Fit, Fit with Restrictions, Temporarily Unfit, Unfit, and Indeterminate.
